Vitalant Offers Thank-You Gifts to Boost Blood Donations During Crucial Time

LAS VEGAS, NV – June 30, 2025 – Blood donors are needed every day to ensure patients receive lifesaving blood transfusions, but it’s especially vital around the July 4 holiday week, when thousands fewer people are available to give. To bolster the local blood supply, Vitalant is hosting a two-day blood drive with JW Marriott Las Vegas The Resort At Summerlin and Rampart Casino At The Resort At Summerlin on Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
As a special thank you, donors at this drive will receive a voucher redeemable for 50 percent off brunch, lunch, or dinner at the Market Place Buffet, courtesy of Rampart Casino At The Resort At Summerlin. Additionally, those who donate at any Vitalant blood drive from June 29–July 8 and opt in to Vitalant’s Donor Rewards program will receive a limited-edition t-shirt or tank top. Plus, those who also use code SUMMER20-2025-V when scheduling their appointment will receive a $20 gift card.*
When a patient receives a transfusion, many describe an immediate transformation, like Melanie Rogers. She needed three units of blood after delivering her daughter prematurely.
“I felt better and got more energy back as I received the blood,” Rogers says. “It was like when your car runs out of gas and is just sputtering, then you fill it back up and it’s running just great.”
Her daughter is now a mom herself, and Melanie is grateful blood donors helped allow her to be a part of both her daughter’s and grandchild’s lives.
Donations from donors of all blood types help patients, especially type O. Emergency room doctors typically reach for type O when seconds count, because it’s most compatible with other blood types.
