JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa to host Vitalant Blood Drive Nov. 30 and Dec. 1

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 5,  2024) – The JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa has partnered with Vitalant to host a blood drive on Saturday, Nov. 30, and Sunday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public is invited to participate in this lifesaving event.

Every day, patients in hospitals rely on generous volunteer blood donors for lifesaving transfusions. One blood donation can help save up to three lives. With the ongoing need for blood, the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa is dedicating two days to support Vitalant’s mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients.

“Hosting a blood drive is a perfect way for us to live our core value of community service while celebrating 25 incredible years in the Summerlin community,” said Michelle McHugh, vice president and general manager of JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa. “We’re calling on our team and the public to roll up their sleeves. Every donation has the power to save lives. Let’s give back together.”

The blood drive will take place in the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa’s Grand Ballroom. Donors can schedule an appointment in advance and walk-ins will also be accepted.

Donors who give during the Vitalant community blood drive at JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa will receive:

  • One 50% off voucher to the Market Place Buffet at Rampart Casino for lunch, brunch or dinner.
  • Refreshments served at the blood drive.
  • A special $20 Vitalant Rewards gift card redeemable via the Vitalant Donor Rewards store.  Plus, automatic entry for a chance to win one of three $10,000 gift cards.

Donors of all blood types are needed to ensure a diverse supply. There are no artificial substitutes for blood, so donations are the only way to provide blood for transfusions.

According to Vitalant, this blood drive hosted by the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa will help build blood supplies during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Being the longest extended holiday weekend of the year, the Thanksgiving holiday is one of the most difficult times of the year to ensure patients have an ample supply of lifesaving blood transfusions.
